T-minus 13

Again, with the blogs. I swear I have more online journals than I can count... and I never stick with any of them.

However, I created this one with a very specific topic in mind: my first NaNoWriMo.

I found out about NaNoWriMo years ago, and told myself I would do it. Except I kept telling myself that I would do it later. I'm not sure what it was that told me that this was my year, but it is, and I can hardly contain my excitement.

I also enjoy documenting little things and going back to review them some months and years later, just to see what sort of mindset I was in at the time... to see if I've grown in the time I've spent away from said document... and on top of that, it's just sort of fun to relive these moments. You might say I live in the past, but to know where you're going, you've got know where you've come from.

But aside from all of that, this will be my NaNo blog. I will do my best to document each word count, each obstacle, each milestone, and every other feeling I can capture over the course of November.

I'm a full-time engineering student and I have a part-time job where I work anywhere from 25 to 35 hours per week. Second round of midterms usually take place in mid-November, but I will be prepared for that and my quota of 2,000 words per day.

I'm excited for this month -- I have a rough plot and a rough idea of who my characters are going to be. I just don't want that excitement to leave me, because I'm sort of good for losing interest in an activity rather quickly. At the very least, however, I've devoted enough hours to developing this plot and my characters -- hours that I probably should have been spending on homework -- to feel like I cannot give up now.

November is going to be fantastic.
